Delta 1 would like to become a beacon of hope in difficult time’s by creating a communications centre where help is a radio call or phone call away .
FOR THE COMMUNITY – BY THE COMMUNITY.
In this way Delta 1 not only becomes the communication HUB during emergencies, but where Delta 1 can provide the equipment and expertise necessary to aid the community at large, while waiting for/assisting the necessary emergency services and standing by the person in need.

In the year 2014 the need for a 24/7 communication HUB was identified by the Lephalale C.P.F and the surrounding communities.
The decision was made to open up a communications centre to accommodate the Lephalale SAPS cluster, namely Bulgerivier, Cumberland, Dorset, Hoopdal, Tom Burke, Villa Nora and Witpoort.
The reason being, most of our rural communities did and still do not have reliable cellular coverage, they rely solely on 2-way radio communication to aid them in emergency situations.
Delta 1 opened its doors , with the blessing of the SAPS and the respective communities , on the 1st of December 2014 and has remained open since. The task was to assist the public in emergency situations by being a 1 stop communications HUB, where in any emergency you make 1 radio call and the operators contact and dispatch all the relevant emergency services on your behalf.
Delta 1 has grown over the past few years and the need for more than just radio communication has arisen. Delta 1 now also monitors camera networks and forms part of the greater Waterberg camera network.
A decision was made to register Delta 1 as a non-profit company , in that way allowing Delta 1 to grow and provide better services to the community. Since the registration of Delta 1 we have received the following.
- One trained human tracking K9 , to aid in locating suspects and missing persons. Handlers were identified and received the relevant training.
- The donation of a 1000L fire fighter, skid unit.
- Four volunteers have had level 3 first aid training , sponsored. These four volunteers now form part of a team made up of further first aiders from various local companies there to assist in medical emergencies , where emergency services may be delayed or need additional manpower.
The above has allowed Delta 1 to assist in numerous emergency situations over the past few months.
